Stewart & Holland have been servicing Mid Canterbury for over 85 years, meeting the needs of domestic, commercial and industrial clients. Offering solutions from design and installation, through to servicing and maintenance for refrigeration, air conditioning and electrical.

Stewart & Holland have great working relationships with large contractors, allowing them to work on large scale projects by specialising on specific parts. An additional service benefit is the 24-hour call out service, for those jobs that cannot wait. Stewart & Holland is located at 9 Sim Place, Ashburton Business Estate, Ashburton and 16 Izone Drive, Rolleston.

Our Company Directors

Mark Cartwright, Managing Director of Stewart & Holland is well adverse across a broad range of services his company has on offer. Mark is a registered Electrician and Refrigeration Engineer, starting his electrical career in 1984. Following this, Mark then trained as a Refrigeration Engineer and has worked in this field for over 30 years.

Scott Mackenzie a director of Stewart & Holland. Scott started his apprenticeship with Stewart & Holland in 2004, becoming a qualified Refrigeration Engineer in 2008 and has now finished his Electrical apprenticeship.  He is very knowledgeable in dairy refrigeration division of the company.

Mark & Scott oversee the day to day running, whilst also working onsite with the team or on technical issues. Mark or Scott are the first men you will see onsite with job outlines and discussions and will complete the quoting and tendering stages.

Mark Cartwright

Managing Director/Refrigeration Engineer/Electrician

Mark has spent the last 14 years with us at Stewart and Holland he loves the challenge of running the business. Building relationships with clients and executing jobs to the highest standard are paramount to Mark. ‘There’s no better feeling than completing a new build having done the mechanical services for a new client.’ says Mark. When he’s not in the office he’s out spending time with family and friends or enjoying camping at Lake Ruataniwha.  

Scott Mackenzie

Director/Refrigeration Engineer/Electrician

For 15 years Director Scott Mackenzie has been tending to the needs of our all-important clients. He enjoys dealing with new people everyday and solidifying strong life-long relationships with them. He also loves the challenge of finding and fixing faults in the equipment. In the weekends Scott can be found either golfing or chasing the rugby ball around.  

Brendan Whalley

Electrician / Shareholder of Stewart and Holland Rolleston

Brendan has just joined Stewart and Holland Rolleston and is excited to start building lasting relationships with new and existing clients around the area. He is passionate about providing efficient, friendly service for all our customers. When Brendan isn’t at work you can find him exploring the great outdoors mountain biking, skiing, four wheel driving or having a few cold ones while watching the crusaders win the game. 

Jo Cartwright

Office Manager

Jos managerial skills have solidified her role at Stewart and Holland for nearly a decade now! Her passions include being able to work with people and numbers, making her perfect for this role. When Jo is not busy running the office, she’s another one of our avid bike riders and she also enjoys catching up with friends, a spot of camping at Lake Ruataniwha, going to the gym and reading a good book. 

Emma Harrison

Receptionist

Emma is into her second year here at Stewart and Holland and she loves getting to work with our valued customers every day. Learning new things is important to Emma so this job suits her well as she’s always gaining more knowledge. When she’s is not looking after our reception area you can find her enjoying time with her friends or hanging out with Doug her fur baby. 

Kevin Hurley

Electrician

Kevin started his journey with Stewart and Holland as an after-school apprentice 47 years ago! After all this time Kev still enjoys the variety of work, especially working the big commercial jobs. When Kev is not working hard for our customers you can find him supporting the Celtic Rugby Club, out fishing and when he gets the chance maintaining the garden and having a few beers with mates. 

Mike Register

Refrigeration Engineer/Electrician

For the past four years Mike has been one of our Refrigeration Engineers/Electricians. The best thing about working here for Mike? He says the variety of work he gets to undertake and the people he meets every day. There’s nothing better than getting out and enjoying his 4WD in the weekends or spending time with the wife and kids says Mike so that’s where you’ll find him when he’s not taking on a task at work. 

Scott Double

Refrigeration Engineer

Scott is another one of our long-standing staff members having been with us for 15 years! He has a passion for working with the welder and undertaking our commercial jobs, but he enjoys all aspects of his work. When Scott has time off, he trades his work boots for hunting boots and heads out in to the mountains or can be found hanging out with the family.  

Craig Duffield

Refrigeration Engineer

Craig started with us in September 2018 and is a great asset to the company. Craig loves that he gets to come to work and be challenged by working on something different every day. ‘They are great people to work for and the team I work with are pretty great too.’ says Craig. When he isn’t working you can find him going for a ride on his bike or spending time with his family.

Vincent Braam

Electrician

Vincent or ‘Vin’ as we call him is the newest addition to our ever-growing team here at Stewart and Holland. Vin is enjoying his new role here with us, being tasked with different jobs everyday really drives his passion for the industry. When Vincent isn’t hard at work for us, he’s enjoying the spotlight in the stage within operatic theatre or testing out the latest video game – talk about a jack of all trades! 

 

Tony Kerr

Heat Pump Serviceman

Tony or ‘Spud’ as we call him has been with us for 2 years servicing the heat pumps of Ashburton making sure we are breathing the cleanest air possible! Getting out and meeting people from all walks of life is what gets Tony up in the morning as well as the camaraderie with the staff. When Tony isn’t servicing heat pumps, he’s down at the Celtic Rugby Club or helping the First 15 meet their goals, playing a round of golf and of course enjoying a cold one. 

 

Mitchell East

Apprentice Electrician

For the past 1 and half years Mitchell has called Stewart and Holland home as he works through his apprenticeship. He thoroughly enjoys his job, learning new things every day, the banter between the other apprentices and staff members is great too. When he’s not learning about his trade Mitchell is playing rugby for the Celtic Colts and enjoying a beer with the boys afterwards.  

Nick Fechney

Apprentice Refrigeration Engineer

Nick has been with us coming up two years while he works through his apprenticeship. He’s a hard worker who thrives off learning on the daily and putting in the hours. After clocking out from a job well done Nick loves Basketball, representing the Newlands/Gannets and the Mid Canterbury Men’s team. He also enjoys the great outdoors and quality time with the family.
